Billing, free credits, and usage caps

P6M meters customer API usage and applies free credits before paid charges. Free credits reset monthly and do not accumulate.

Billing models

P6M supports three hosted signup paths:

  • Free trial: no payment method required; traffic stops when free credits are exhausted.
  • Discounted monthly usage: a monthly prepaid allowance plus optional extra usage cap.
  • Unlimited monthly usage: usage is rated and charged monthly.

Free-tier SLA behavior

Free-tier usage is exempt from SLA commitments. Paid SLA products are modeled separately and can be enabled after hosted support operations are ready.

What happens when limits are reached

If an Org has no payment method and exhausts free credits, P6M should block billable customer API traffic and direct the user to add payment details.

If an Org is on a prepaid plan and extra usage is disabled, traffic is blocked after the plan allowance is exhausted.

If extra usage is enabled, P6M allows usage until the configured monthly cap is reached.

Use the customer portal Billing and Usage pages to see:

  • gross metered usage
  • free credits used
  • plan allowance remaining
  • estimated overage
  • meter-by-meter rated usage
